Lupus—Diagnosis
How is lupus diagnosed?
Your Rheumatologist will diagnose Lupus based on your complaints, his findings and lab reports. An ANA and ds DNA test is commonly asked for.
ANA stands for
Anti nuclear antibodies and are antibodies produced by the immune system against the nuclei of cells. These are seen in Lupus; however, presence of these antibodies does not always mean you have lupus.
